Good bye July
Hello August
July flew by so fast!
At the start of the month, Bree and Kierstyn both had birthdays to celebrate. We got some good swimming time in at the pool and the lake. We enjoyed fresh strawberries and raspberries, too!
About 130 bales of hay were hauled home. There were a couple of evening fires, and we made some smores for bedtime snacks on the BBQ.
The kids spent some time splashing in the little kiddie pool at home.
We had a few cattle adventures to handle and did some yard work here and there.
With the long days at work and the weekend heat, we decided to do some camping in the living room!
Oh, and we tried a new burger recipe that turned out pretty good! We may tweak it a little in the future but we’re pretty happy with it right now! We will share it with you. We’d love to hear your feedback on it! The PDF file is linked at the bottom.
2:1 Beef/Pork Burgers

1lb Pork
1 ¾ cup finely crushed Soda Crackers
4 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tbsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp Bullseye BBQ Sauce
3 eggs
Directions
In a medium or large bowl mix the beef and pork together
Add all the remaining ingredients
Mix well *
Shape into burgers *
Poke a hole in the middle of each burger*
BBQ or pan fry until fully cooked
Notes:
*I always use my hands to mix
*Put soda crackers in a baggie and crush them until fine. I keep a bag of crushed soda crackers in my cupboard.
*The number of burgers will depend on the size you like. I made 10 good size burgers and 1 a little smaller
*Poking a hole in the burger helps ensure the middle gets fully cooked
