It’s More Than a Label — It’s How We Farm
These days, the words farm-raised get tossed around a lot — but not every farm means the same thing by it.
At Hillview Livestock, when we say farm-raised, we mean animals that are cared for right here on our family farm — fed, handled, and raised with attention and respect every single day.
We’re also pasture-raised, which means our animals spend their days out on grass. In the summer, that’s fresh pasture; during winter, they eat hay — which is really just dried grass. It’s like putting summer’s nutrition in storage so our livestock can enjoy those same benefits year-round.
Our pigs are raised outside in a pen (otherwise they’d run all over the countryside!). As the years go on, we keep adjusting and expanding to give them more space and the best life we can.
Our chickens stay cozy in a coop inside our barn. With coyotes and other wildlife around the farm, it just isn’t safe to let them roam until we have the proper enclosure built. We recently upgraded their laying nests, and we’re always working to improve things for their comfort and safety.
So when you see “farm-raised” from us, know it’s more than just a label. It means real animals, real care, and a family that’s proud to do things the right way. ❤️
