Our week on the farm
This past Saturday was our busiest Brandon Farmers’ Market yet, and what a great feeling that was. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, meet new customers, and spend the morning visiting with everyone who stopped by. Thank you to everyone who came out to support local businesses and our family farm.
This Wednesday marks our first time attending the Brandon Downtown BIZ Market. We’re excited to try something new, meet more people, and see what the evening market has to offer.
Around the farm, the heat has certainly made itself known. The meat chickens have been keeping us busy with extra water throughout the day and plenty of check-ins to make sure they’re handling the hot weather as comfortably as possible. Thankfully, the rest of the animals have been enjoying the shade and taking the heat in stride.
We’ve also been busy in The Farm Kitchen. Bread and pies certainly aren’t new to our family—Kierstyn has been making them for years. What’s new is being able to share them with all of you. Now that she’s home more, there’s finally time to keep a steady supply on hand, so you can expect to see homemade bread and pies available more regularly alongside our farm-raised meats.
As always, thank you for following along and supporting our family farm. Whether you order online, stop by a market, or simply read these weekly updates, we truly appreciate having you as part of our journey.
We hope you have a wonderful week, find a way to stay cool, and don’t forget to check on your family, neighbours, and animals during this heat wave.
