There are days you win, and days you just keep the wheels turning
Some days on the farm are smooth and productive… this was not one of those days.
It was just me and the kids at home with an overflowing to-do list, and let’s be honest — we only got the bare minimum done. I wish I was the kind of farm mom who could power through with little helpers in tow every day, but I’m not. I can hardly keep myself focused on one task at a time, let alone two kids and chores pulling me in every direction.
Thankfully, we have Grams and G who step in so we can farm, and tomorrow I don’t work off the farm, so I’ll be tackling the rest of that list while the kids are at daycare and Tony’s at work.
Recipe of the Week – Steak Pie
This week, I cooked my first steak pie. It was really tasty, but I learned a valuable lesson — let it fully thaw before putting it in the oven! Mine came out a little burnt on the outside, but the inside was delicious. An older English gentleman I work with gave us the pie to try, and it was such a nice change from our usual Canadian meals. I might just cook it again sometime — with better timing next round.
